Aloo Handi Chaat

 

Ingredients Aloo Handi Chaat

Aloo Chana Preparation:

    ½ cup black gram

    Water, for soaking

    ½ tsp turmeric

     ½ tsp salt

     2 cups water for pressure cooking

     10 small potatoes

Other Ingredients:

      ¼ cup cumin

    1 cup tamarind chutney

      1 cup water

      Pinch black salt

    ½ onion, finely chopped

     2 tbsp sev

      chilli powder

How To Make Aloo Handi Chaat

Firstly, in a large bowl, soak ½ cup black gram in water for 6 hours. Drain the water and put it in the cooker. Now add ½ tsp turmeric, ½ tsp salt and 2 cups water.

Place a basket and add 10 small potatoes. Cover the lid and pressure cook for 5 whistles. Potato and gram are ready. Now to prepare cumin powder in a big pan, take ¼ cup cumin. Roast on low flame until the cumin turns black with a smoky aroma.

Transfer to a mortar and crush to make powder. Cumin powder is now ready. Now take 1 cup tamarind chutney and dilute it by adding 1 cup water. Mix well and now tamarind water is ready. To prepare potato cups, take a boiled potato and peel it.

Cut the potatoes and make a hole in the middle. You can use leftover potatoes to prepare aloo masala or sandwiches. To eat, place potato cups on a plate. Add a pinch of prepared cumin powder and black salt. Add boiled black gram and tamarind water. Now, garnish it with chopped onion and sev.

finally, top with a pinch of chilli powder and enjoy Aloo Handi Chaat.
